A celebration of women, girls and non-binary people is taking place in Rotherham this weekend.
WOW – Women of the World Festivals began in the UK in 2010 and has developed a reputation as a space for world renowned artists, activists, thinkers and performers.
Rotherham has harnessed the unique festival model that creates numerous pathways for participants to take part in WOW projects, amplify their own causes, or start new initiatives which have a wide impact on communities.
The WOW Rotherham Festival is a vibrant, colourful, bold, fun, and fearless festival connecting Rotherham to other women and girls across the globe as part of the WOW family.
The free event on Saturday May 9, 11am to 4pm in Rotherham town centre includes craft workshops, music, dance, performance, panels and more!
The Imperial Buildings hosts the creative workshops where you can create your own keychains, headbands, badges and zines.
The WOW Rotherham Market Place returns to the festival. Enjoy a wide variety of local makers, selling a variety of handmade goods in Minster Gardens.
All Saints Square is set to host outdoor performances with Minster Yard and Snail Yard on the High Street being the locations for live music performances.
