Rotherham has major attractions, with a strong cluster of family attractions (such as the family theme park, Gulliver’s Valley); and heritage attractions (including one of the grandest stately homes in the country, Wentworth Woodhouse); a nationally unqiue event venue at the Magna Science Adventure Centre; former coalfields and industrial areas transformed into thriving country parks; and magical destinations such as Grimm & Co. It also has a great location, close to cities and national parks, with great road and rail and tram links.
Sharing aims with South Yorkshire Destination Management Plan, Visit Rotherham aims to generate more (and longer) visits and spend in the local economy, to use the visitor economy to continue to develop and enhance the appeal and image of Rotherham to a range of audiences, and to engage with residents through the development of the visitor economy and hospitality sector to enhance their pride and quality of life.
