Grimm & Co are proud to present South Yorkshire’s iconic celebration of creativity, the Festival of Stories, hosted in Rotherham this May half-term.
The award-winning literacy charity and creative writing centre is based in Rotherham town centre. The transformed former church on Ship Hill features a Emporium of Stories and also imcludes a Feastery Café and Apothecary to the Magical.
From the May 19 - 30, Grimm & Co will have its doors wide open to the public to tempt their curiosity as well as working with private groups and schools.
The best part is... All sessions are free entry, whether onsite or at a partner venue. Featuring a variety of storytelling workshops, performances and sessions, it’s the festival that inspires creativity across all ages.
This year, the charity endeavours to go even bigger and better, inviting wizards, mechanics, dragons and more to their Emporium of Stories. Tuesday 26th is a day dedicated to children’s author Julia Donaldson and her fantastic works, with a plethora of activities surrounding it. From Superworm Garden Explorers to illustration workshops with THE Lydia Monks (illustrator behind the stories of Julia Donaldson), the day is stacked with themed events.
The hope is to continue the mission that Grimm & Co has stuck to since its founding: "Changing lives one story at a time."
Founding Chief Executive, Dr Deborah Bullivant, MBE, DL, said: “The Festival of Stories is for everyone across South Yorkshire and beyond. It has two key aims 1) to celebrate the talent of the children and young people, 2) to bring celebrated artists and showstopping performers to our doorstep. From mysteries to adventures, we have a packed programme of awe and wonderfulness, it’s so exciting."
And, you’re invited...
