The much-loved star of stage and screen, Darren Day, is on board for Rotherham's festive pantomime, The New Adventures of Peter Pan.
A firm favourite with pantomime audiences across the UK, Darren Day brings a wealth of experience, charisma and comic timing to the role. His appearance as Captain Hook promises plenty of traditional boo‑and‑hiss moments, laugh‑out‑loud comedy and swashbuckling fun for audiences of all ages.
Darren is no stranger to Rotherham Civic Theatre, after appearing in Snow White as the Prince in 2010, and it will be great to welcome him back to Rotherham.
Rotherham Civic Theatre are again working with Blue Genie Entertainment as their pantomime partner. Renowned for producing high‑quality, family‑friendly entertainment, the partnership ensures another spectacular production packed with magic, music and mayhem.
The New Adventures of Peter Pan will feature all the ingredients audiences know and love from a classic pantomime – dazzling costumes, high‑energy musical numbers, slapstick comedy and interactive moments – alongside an exciting new twist on the much‑loved story.

Darren’s big break came in 1993 when he landed the lead role of Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dream Coat at the London Palladium and he then went on to play the role many more times in the West End and on UK and World Tours. His other theatre appearances include roles in Great Expectations, Summer Holiday, The Rocky Horror Show, Les Misérables, Grease, Hello Dolly and Footloose.
Since 1994, Darren has been a leading role in no fewer than 25 pantomimes playing parts which ranged from Buttons to Captain Hook for which he was also nominated in the category of Best Male Villain at the Great British Pantomime Awards.
The New Adventures of Peter Pan will run at Rotherham Civic Theatre from Thursday 26 November 2026 until Sunday 3 January 2027.
