We Wonder invites families to "The Original Nightclub"

A one-day family arts festival, WE Wonder, returns for 2026, reimagining Wentworth Woodhouse as Rotherham’s original nightclub.

Taking over the gardens of the Grade I listed Rotherham mansion on August 22 is a vibrant, joyful celebration of dance, rhythm, and communal gathering.

Previous events have celebrated Rotherham’s richly diverse communities, with visitors exploring, listening, creating, dancing, and sharing food together.

Taking place between 11.00am and 5.00pm, this year is set to be Rotherham’s biggest party featuring live and interactive music and dance performances and a silent disco in Acer Wood, plus walkabout performances and craft activities and workshops.

The Ostentatious Ball is a dance extravaganza that invites everyone to step into the spotlight and dance into history. Created by ZoieLogic Dance Theatre, this is a reimagined Regency-era ball with a bold, modern twist. Everyone’s invited!

Bling ‘n’ Ting are unmissable walkabout characters bringing joy on the move.

Sheffield-based theatre company, Pif-Paf Theatre return with Right To Play - a new project that aims to inspire us to overcome the barriers to play ourselves and create worlds through play with our families and communities.

ARCADE by Casson & Friends is a joyful interactive performance with short dance ‘games’ to connect people of all ages with the childlike joy of play - and each other!

The event held in partnership with Flux Rotherham and funded by Arts Council England.

Tickets for We Wonder are £12.50 for adults, £7.00 for child (5-16) with infants (Under 5) going free. Family tickets (2 adults, 2 children) are available for £30.
