Attached to Rotherham College (part of the RNN Group), The Wharncliffe Restaurant serves as a vital training ground for the next generation of hospitality and culinary professionals. Operating as a fully functioning commercial restaurant open to the public, every dish prepared and every table served is managed directly by students guided by experienced industry tutors.
The restaurant, often called RNN Group’s best kept secret, helps to build confidence, refine techniques, and creates real-world experience in an authentic environment.
The establishment supports students by bridging the gap between classroom theory and employment. By handling live service during busy lunch hours, pre-theatre dining, formal evening dinners, and seasonal events, learners experience the fast-paced realities of kitchen and front-of-house operations.
The Percy Street premises are reopening on September 23 and the new menu has just been launched. Three course lunches are £14.50 and three courses in the evening are £22.50.
A number of events are also planned for the academic year, starting with a MacMillan coffee morning on September 25.

December 2 - 17 - Christmas Menu - Lunch Wednesday to Friday 12:00pm-12:45pm. Dinner Wednesday & Thursday 6:15pm-7:00pm
January 27 - 28 - Burns Night - A culinary tribute to the Bard, with traditional Scottish ingredients and a modern twist
March 24 - 25 - A Day at the Seaside - A trip to the British Coast with a Seafood inspired menu, and nostalgic sweet treats to finish
May 19 - 20 - Taste of Italy - One of the World's great cuisines that takes you through traditional dishes from Tuscany to Sicily
