Rotherham College students shine at creative festival in Rotherham Minster

Talented Performing Arts and Music students recently showcased their incredible creativity and skill at the ‘Arts at the Minster’ festival, hosted by Rotherham Minster and in collaboration with Rotherham College and Children’s Capital of Culture.

The week-long celebration highlighted the hard work and passion of our students across Musical Theatre, Acting, and Music courses, with captivating performances that impressed audiences and brought the community together through the arts.

Tuesday saw Musical Theatre students take to the stage with songs from Sister Act Jr., delivering high-energy performances filled with soulful singing and infectious enthusiasm.

Their performances captured the heart and humour of the show, earning warm applause from everyone in attendance.

On Wednesday, it was the Acting students’ turn to take the spotlight. They performed intense and thought-provoking scenes from Macbeth by William Shakespeare and Woyzeck by Georg Büchner.

The students demonstrated maturity and emotional depth, exploring complex themes of ambition, madness and human struggle with confidence and skill.

Thursday concluded with a lively showcase from our Music students, who performed a mix of popular covers and original songs. From acoustic ballads to upbeat band performances, the students displayed impressive showmanship and stage presence, filling the Minster with vibrant energy.
