No Bounds Festival returns to Rotherham

No Bounds Festival returns in October with a weekend of "radical joy and relentless curiosity."

Music, art, technology and dance combine on October 9-11 in various venues across Sheffield and Rotherham.

Organisers say that this year they are going back to its raw, grassroots, rave-fuelled genesis, as well as looking forwards with elements of the future.

An update said: "After 2025's hugely successful festival, where we said goodbye to our beloved home, Hope Works, going fully nomadic, we continue our wrestles explorations as we build towards our huge 10th birthday celebrations in 2027.

"Across ten venues in Sheffield and Rotherham, expect warehouse-rattling sonic explorations, boundary-pushing live performances, huge immersive experiences, and mind-melting moments, unfolding through a soul-nourishing programme of parties, all-dayers, happenings, exhibitions, and talks.

"From the dancefloor to community spaces, No Bounds 2026 celebrates the power of adventurous music, art and collaborative experiences -- reconnecting with the energy, curiosity and DIY spirit that started it all, and still powers our hearts."

Rotherham's place in the festival lineup centres on the Electronic Music Club (EMC), curated by Mark Fell and Rian Treanor.

The EMC provides free after school sessions in Rotherham town centre to enable young people to learn about DJing, vocals, drum machines, synthesisers, sound systems, radio shows, music videos, dance and performances. Highlights through the year include organising performances at high profile events such as the Rotherham Show and No Bounds.

Following last year's success, EMC returns to No Bounds with a Sunday community celebration - food, music, talks, and a get-together with local performances from Rotherham's finest.

The day includes an EMC showcase featuring live music from the Recovery Community, alongside a first listen to an upcoming release: two and a half hours of hardcore, Roma-inspired, genre-bending new music.

And an exhibition and installation created by EMC's young people, with drop-in workshops and activities will be running throughout the day.

Mark Fell is an English music producer and artist based in Rotherham. His practice draws upon electronic music subcultures, experimental film, contemporary philosophy and radical politics.

Rian Treanor's music is complex yet highly kinetic, reflecting equal interest in club culture and experimental sound design.
