Supertram on board with transport museum

The South Yorkshire Transport Museum has teamed up with Supertram to provide discounted entry and free vintage bus rides.

The Rotherham museum is currently home to around 50 vehicles including cars, buses and a tramcar body. Some of these vehicles are owned by the museum and some are privately owned. All of these vehicles are at different stages of restoration, some fully restored to their former glory.

Supertram passengers can now enjoy £2 off museum entry and a free return ride on a vintage shuttle bus between Rotherham Parkgate tram stop and South Yorkshire Transport Museum at nearby Aldwarke. Just show your Supertram ticket (paper or digital) to enjoy the offer!

Open days are generally held on the second Sunday of every month when this offer is available.

The vintage shuttle bus will collect visitors directly from Parkgate tram stop.

Standard admission before Supertram discount:

• Adults: £7
• Senior Citizens / Concessions: £5
• Accompanied Children (under 16): Free

Supertram passengers receive £2 off these prices.

On July 13 the theme is Emergency Services Day - NESM, Sams Army etc and on August 10 expect Goth meets Steampunk at the Museum.

Opening hours are 10:30am to 4pm.

In addition to the vehicles the museum features a varied selection of displays of transport related artefacts and objects. The museum also has a café serving hot & cold drinks, sandwiches and snacks.

Restored heritage buses can also be hired for weddings, birthdays, proms, family outings or any other such occasion.

The museum is a non-profit organisation which relies on entrance fees, donations, sponsorship, funding and the help of its volunteers to keep it running.
